Additional market opportunities thanks to shared structures and processes

Hirschmann Industries GmbH, based in Neckartenzlingen near Stuttgart, merged its subsidiary PAT GmbH, Ettlingen, into Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH, Neckartenzlingen, where the former PAT represents the "Electronic Control Systems" division. The date when this merger takes effect is backdated to 1 January, 2006. The product range of load moment indication systems will continue to be marketed under the brand names PAT, KRÜGER and HIRSCHMANN. The Ettlingen site will also continue in existence.

The merger of the two companies will open numerous market opportunities. By way of explanation, Reinhard Sitzmann, CEO of Hirschmann Industries GmbH has this to say: "In addition to synergies in purchasing, production and administration, there are numerous areas of technology where we have a lot in common, for example field busses or connectors. The know-how which both companies possess can be used more efficiently than in the past thanks to shared structures and processes. We will benefit from this as much as our customers."
The three product divisions Industrial Networking, Industrial Connectors und Electronic Control Systems will work together under the shared roof of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH. The company has a global workforce of around 800, with approx. 600 of these employed in Neckartenzlingen and Ettlingen. Turnover in 2005 (including Electronic Control Systems) came to €170 million.
