Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH hived off

Hirschmann Electronics GmbH, Neckartenzlingen/Germany, has hived off the “Automation and Network Solutions” division: With effect from 1st April 2005, it will operate as an independent company on the market. The company, based in Neckartenzlingen, bears the name Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH. At the same time the new company will take over the operative management of PAT GmbH, Ettlingen, also part of the Hirschmann Group. The Board of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH consists of Reinhard Sitzmann (Chairman), Laurence Burns, Rainer Schenkyr and Dr. Georg Schneider.

With this hive off and the organisational independence of the automation division, the Hirschmann Group’s goal is to better concentrate on the specific requirements and demands of industrial customers. “This clear focus and the flat hierarchies allow fast decisions and more flexibility. Thus we will constantly increase our competitive edge,” explains Reinhard Sitzmann, Chairman of the Board of Hirschmann Electronics GmbH and Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH.
As a specialist in automation and networking systems, Hirschmann Automation and Control offers a complete, integrated structure for data communication throughout the company. The product range extends from network components for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet through fibre interfaces for different field bus systems up to electrical actuator and sensor connectors. Business activities will be enhanced by systems for load indication and load moment limitation that will be marketed under the brand names PAT and KRÜGER.
The Hirschmann Group has production sites in Germany and Hungary and subsidiaries in Europe, the USA and Asia. In 2004 the Hirschmann Group, with about 1800 staff world wide, achieved a turnover of just under €300 million.
